Someone at the conference said an editor told her to keep the story simple. That a simple story for a debut book was best. I can understand that. One of my drawbacks is just that. I love a complicated plot, usually with a surprise, logical twist at the end. But I believe that editor gave great advice and I'm going to try to keep it in mind as I write another book.
That will be a couple months away. For now, I'm editing a book I plan to email out to an editor Sunday.
