Getting An Idea
Friday night, I was watching an Asian film. Love them. This one had a wonderful love story, a lot of action scenes, and gave me some ideas. That's one of the good things about taking a break from writing. You get to re-energize.

Kisses Are Nice
I love it when an author writes a scene when the two characters kiss and it gives me chillbumps. Now that's a kiss. I'm the same way with movies. Give me a great kiss on screen and I'm happy with the whole movie. That can be the only romantic gesture and I'm okay with it. Here's a scene from one of my favorite movies. It's a picture of THE KISS. Can you name the movie?

Old Westerns
I love westerns. One of my favorites was on the other day and I realized there were such strong emotions in every scene, that I could use them in my current book. Not the words, but the feelings they invoked.
My hero has done a lot of things he regrets. Now his life has changed and he sees a future alone and unloved because of those bad choices. See the clip below. The beginning is really only a small portion of the scene. There was so much more. In fact, throughout the movie it showed so much depth you almost couldn't catch it all.

Thankful Friday
After reading a certain news article today, I'm determined to think of something totally positive to be thankful for as I want to lighten my mood.I'm thankful for movies. I love watching romantic comedies, sci-fi's, adventures, period pieces and westerns. Ocassionally, I'll watch a thriller or suspense. I avoid horror and "making a statement" films. Movies are a way to escape from life for a couple hours.
I especially love watching old movies from the 40's. The clothes, men in fedoras, hmmm. Would I like living back then? Goodness, no. Just like visiting for a while.

Love Those Westerns!
I can't wait for this fall when Ed Harris's APPALOOSA comes to the theaters. Mr. Harris is a wonderful actor and not hard on the eyes at all. Speaking of eyes, he has a beautiful blue pair. LOL! The movie also has Viggo Mortensen, Renee Zellweger, and Jeremy Irons. Great cast. Check out the trailer.
